In honor of the recent grand opening of Kürtőskalács, I’d like to share some more behind the scenes of painting their unique storefront. Going into it, I was so nervous (mostly to be 10 feet off the ground). But by the end, I was so comfortable up there on that wobbly scaffolding. It had become my little sanctuary where I could just turn the world off and focus on painting. It was also a joy to talk with passerby’s about my art and make new connections. I met a couple people from Hungary who were thrilled to see a Hungarian dessert coming to our little town in Indiana. Countless people asked me how to pronounce Kürtőskalács (to which I provided 0 help). And only one person tried moving the scaffolding while I was on it! 😀✨ This was my biggest and most memorable project yet and I’m so thankful to the owners of Kürtőskalács, Damon and Nicolle, for trusting me with this. I’m so happy to see the community supporting an amazing small business and I hope it continues to prosper for years to come! We need more small businesses that find ways to support other small businesses.
